It was such a success!

If you know me, you know that one of my loves is coffee. I'll happily drink it anytime of the day and under any circumstance, and not just for the caffeine anymore...I love the taste too!

The other day, I was snooping around in one of my mom's cookbooks, and I found a recipe for the perfect iced coffee. Reading that title was all it took for me to decide that I was going to make that recipe ASAP. Well, now that I have the super yummy cold brew in me as I write, I have not one regret.

I've heard a lot of failure stories of people trying to make their own cold brew at home, so a part of me was pretty nervous about trying it myself. My advice after doing it? GO FOR IT. It's honestly such an easy recipe, and you hardly have to do any work! Plus, it made quite a bit, so it'll last a long time (if you're just making it for one person like I was).

Of course I wasn't going to leave you without the recipe! I hope you coffee lovers out there love it as much as I do!

Perfect Iced Coffee

1 pound ground coffee (good, rich roast)

- I used a Starbucks Italian dark roast, but any dark roast will work!

8 quarts cold water

Milk or half-and-half (a healthy splash per serving)

Directions:

1. Place the ground coffee into a large container. (and I mean LARGE.) I split mine between two containers and it worked just as well.)

2. Pour in 8 quarts cold water

3. Give it a stir to make sure all the grounds are wet.

4. The place the lid on the container and let it sit on the counter at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours. (I waited the full 24 hours.)

5.Lay some cheesecloth in a fine mesh strainer. Slowly pour the coffee/water mixture (carefully!) into a clean container or vat.

6. Place the vat in the refrigerator and allow the coffee concentrate to cool.

8. To serve the coffee, dispense the concentrate into a glass filled with ice.

9. Splash in milk or half-and-half

10. Stir to mix and enjoy it immediately!

Repeat daily as needed.

And yes. I did a photoshoot with my coffee.
